Orascom Construction Industries SAE (OCI) is a leading engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor and fertilizer producer based in Cairo, Egypt, and active in more than 25 countries. The company was Egypt's first multinational corporation, and is one of the core Orascom Group companies. OCI is one of the region’s largest corporations.
==History==
OCI was established in Egypt in 1950 and owned by Onsi Sawiris. OCI owned and operated cement plants in Egypt, Algeria, Turkey, Pakistan, northern Iraq, North Korea and Spain, which had a combined annual production capacity of 21 million tonnes. In December 2007, OCI announced the divestment of its cement group, Orascom Building Materials Holding (“OBMH”), the holding company for its cement group assets, to the French Lafarge. OCI's Construction Group ranks among the world’s top global contractors and undertakes large industrial, infrastructure and select commercial projects for public and private customers principally in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=About Us )
OCI's Fertilizer Group owns and operates nitrogen fertilizer plants in Egypt, the Netherlands, the United States, and Algeria with an international distribution platform spanning Europe, North and South America, Southeast Asia, and Africa. Its nitrogen fertilizer operations will reach 7.0 million metric tons of capacity by the end of 2012, placing OCI among the top global nitrogen-based fertilizer producers. OCI's fertilizer and chemical operations revenue in 2014 was $2.69 billion and it had about 3,000 employees at plants in Algeria, Egypt, the Netherlands and the United States.
The Nile City Towers consist of a pair of 32-floors office buildings, two of the first intelligent buildings in Egypt, implementing the EIB/KNX Building Management System.
